About KCGCU

Established in 1959, Kahawa Coffee Growers Co-operative Union Ltd unites 18 primary societies and over 10,000 smallholder farmers across Kenya’s richest coffee-growing regions. For more than six decades we have championed sustainable farming, fair trade, and direct market access — ensuring every bean tells a story of quality, community, and lasting prosperity.

Rooted in Community, Grown for Excellence

For over six decades, KCGCU has served as the unifying force for coffee farmers across Kiambu County. From humble beginnings in 1959, we have grown into a powerful cooperative union that champions sustainable farming, fair payments, and global market access. Today, we proudly represent 18 primary societies — each one a family of passionate growers who pour their heritage into every cherry. Together, these societies form the strong roots that make KCGCU coffee some of the finest in the world.
